Associate Consultant

Capo Projects Group is seeking to add an Associate Consultant (Project Engineer/Scheduler) to support our clients throughout Southern California. In this role you will be working in our Westlake Village Office.

Capo is an engaging and growing technology forward Professional Services firm headquartered in Orange County, with satellite offices throughout the US supporting our client's work. Our staff is generally comprised of individuals with hands-on Project Management experience in the AEC industry, which allows us to offer more meaningful recommendations when performing our support. Focused on integrating our in-house developed technology applications, we offer professional, technical and project controls (scheduling, estimating, and claims) services to our trusted AEC client base.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attends pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate.

  • Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types.

  • Assists in baseline scheduling for the bid process by working with estimating and engineering teams to accurately identify the sequence of all project work to be performed.

  • Proactively anticipate schedule issues and submit recommendations for corrective action.

  • Obtains accurate and timely program schedule updates from project teams and performs QA/QC on information received.

  • Prepare estimates per design based on the scope of work.

  • Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval. Reviews final estimate to ensure defined work aligns with overall project schedule and cost goals.

  • Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. Calculates material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.

  • Conduct construction/ project site visits gathering relevant Information and determine what information to be used to produce project estimates.

  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

  • Monitors client addendum and advises the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.

  • Visits active projects and investigates work progress.

  • Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.

  • Maintains knowledge of the Company’s values and strategic plan.

Qualifications

  • Degree from established college/university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.

  • Minimum 3–7-year experience in Construction Industry, Scheduling, and Estimating.

  • Experience of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office software.

  • Experience with General Contractors Preferred
