Junior Project Scheduler

Capo Projects Group is seeking to add a Junior Project Scheduler to our team. You will develop, monitor, and manage multiple schedules for construction projects, and review of project schedules and documentation. Regular use of Primavera P6 software and knowledge of Critical Path Method(CPM). Capo Projects Group team members work hard and play hard, therefore, you will be involved in staff development, and maintaining our team-oriented culture.  As a consultant in the construction management industry, we are looking for team members that are comfortable and skilled at building relationships with clients and working in team environments daily.


Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Assists schedulers with program schedule updates while coordinating input from various Facilities teams

  • Analyzes schedules for proper use of program level standard codes, layouts, and reports necessary to ensure data integrity

  • Performs QA/QC on P6 schedules and validates logic ties to ensure conformance with scheduling guidelines for various project types

  • Performs QA/QC on contractors’ schedule submittals for conformance with contract scope and terms

  • Reads drawings to determine if work is in or out of scope and understands terms and conditions of the contract to determine if any compensable or non-compensable time extensions have merit.

  • Assists the scheduling team in reporting projects as necessary

  • Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types

  • Assists in baseline scheduling for bid process by working with estimating and engineering teams to accurately identify the sequence of all project work to be performed.

  • Monitors and actively participates in project and program scheduling issues while administering best practices and standards

  • Performs Critical Path analyses and Earned Value Analyses

  • Obtains accurate and timely program schedule updates from project teams and performs QA/QC on information received

  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and analyses as directed by management

  • Creates and develops conceptual what-if schedules for multiple project types including large complex multi-year projects

  • Understand and implement accepted Planning & Scheduling Best Practices

  • Work extensively in Primavera P6(15.1) or above and MS Office Suite to track and review schedules, make updates and create reports.

  • Proactively anticipate schedule issues and submit recommendations for corrective action.

  • Visits active projects and investigates work progress.

  • Interact with the project team and represent Capo Projects Group in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.

  • Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends.

  • Evaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan.

  • Analyze and communicate the impact of changes to the schedule.

 

Background Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • 3+ years scheduling experience in Construction Scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor. Experience working with heavy civil or public works projects is highly desired.

  • Proficiency in Primavera 6 (17.1) and MS Office Suites

  • Proven success implementing strategic initiatives.

  • Detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.

  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders, High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and integrity.
